Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. After my lunch with Becky on March 6, 2024, she wanted to walk at Ali Mall. We are walking outside on the sidewalk there was lots of people walking for some reason Becky was in front of me. Becky was walking at the right-hand side near the street.
The sidewalk was a bit crowded at that time because everyone wanted to cross the street.
Carmina was walking behind Becky and the sun was hitting my eyes during our walk it was humid. For some reason that day I had tripped over landed my chin at the end of the sidewalk.
Someone shouted there is an accident which led people in front of me who had stopped asking if I needed help.
Becky had turned around at shock seeing her friend at the ground landed on both knees hitting the street.
All a sudden it is automatic in our head to just stand up when we're at the ground without any help.
Becky asked me to seat down at Wendy's. I removed my face mask. There were blood stains inside my mask.
I used wipes to clean my mouth and say blood wouldn't stop got scared asked Becky to get ice at Wendy's.
Both of us we're at shock Becky asked any part of the body hurting. I couldn't think at that time worried of the blood in my lower lip at the right side.
After being calmed I had looked where I had tripped and notice there was a fire hydrate next to it. Good I didn't hit my head in the area. I was very lucky being thankful and able to enter the church that morning before it had happened.
No matter how much pressure and ice I had put that day it wouldn't stopped bleeding.
I called the driver to pick me up bring me at home to change my clothes before bringing Becky home. I had two minor scabs on my knees.
I was able to talk to Cynthia who is Becky's older sister. She had told me her experience when she also tripped broke her ribs.
Becky also told me many times she has tripped over due to her eyesight.
Analyzing what happen during that time I couldn't figure why I followed Becky when her eyesight is not good. Usually when I walk, I am ahead of them Becky said she saw the gap where I tripped over. Cynthia said why didn't you inform Carmina so she wouldn't have tripped over.
Becky responded because she has good eyesight.
I didn't want to blame anyone it was my mistake not paying attention.
After reaching my home I had searched on the internet on busted lip to see if there is food not allowed to eat and what should be done.
It says a busted lip will last 7 to 10 days. I am supposed to eat food that are soft and anything cold. Stay away from food that are hot. Keep adding cold compress until it heals.
Morning after waking up I felt the pain on my right arm I placed two pieces of solan pass the part that was sore.
On my knees there was a slight bruise and scabs I had put some neurosporene. I also had scratches on my finger and my arm. I wasn't worried on my minor scratches since cannot be notice.
I was more concerned on my lip how it is so obvious. Good thing no plans for me over the days and weekend.
Every day I had put ice cubes on my busted lip once it is cold put some Burt bees ChapStick preventing getting dry. It became a routine for me.
We all learn from our own experience always look down and pay attention where we are walking. Accidents can happen to anyone.
Just be thankful we don't have major injuries, and everything can be healed right away.
We are a strong person and can handle something that is minor.
Carmina was able to hide her cut on her lip by wearing lipstick when going outside.
