When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Mom Violy's Request from Goldilocks

Mom Violy was requesting for sweets last night. She asked her daughter Carmina to place an order for her midnight snacks. Mom Violy couldn't remember what she uses to eat. Mom Violy said I don't want chocolate cake or mocha cake. For some reason I am having a difficult time sleeping. Carmina had mentioned the slice cakes she use to order from Goldilocks that is wrapped individual giving you a limit how much portion you should eat. Carmina had placed the order through Grab due to the weather condition it took nine times to get a rider to pick up my order. Patience is what we need when we're asking someone to pick up our food. Even if you don't know who they are you also need to be consider to their helpful way in giving them a tip. Carmina was able to order Mom Violy's Mocha Marble Cake Slice for PHP 29.00 each ($0.58). Mom Violy also requested for the Classic Polvaron one box PHP 176.00 ($3.52). Mom Violy's favorite is the Cathedral Window for PHP 264.00 ($5.2...

Are you the Classic or Fruity Taho?

Mom Violy had requested the classic taho from the place Carmina use to order. Due to the rain, thunderstorm and area being flooded in the Philippines the milk tea where she would order is currently closed. Carmina decided to try a new place and my advantages I can share with my viewers to see how it would taste. Carmina found MiPanda Milk Tea Hub that serves the Classic Taho Boba, Mango Taho Boba and Strawberry Taho Boba in one place. Why not gamble and try all three? Mom Violy only wanted two of the Classic Taho Boba for PHP 120.00 ($2.40) each medium size. Mom Violy said it tasted good for a person who doesn't drink milk tea. I prefer the Strawberry Taho Boba over the Mango Taho Boba. Mango Taho Boba PHP 120.00 ($2.40) medium size Strawberry Taho Boba PHP 120.00 ($2.40) medium size To check out the menu of  MiPanda Philippines  to see what you can order. NOT SPONSORED. Oven Harissa Roasted Chicken from Chooks To Go

Every week Carmina sends food over to Mom Violy sometimes it can happen during the weekend or beginning of a new week. Mom Violy was requesting for her favorite Oven Sweet Roasted Chicken from Chooks To Go.  Carmina on the other hand doesn't like having her chicken too sweet. Carmina had notice there was a new one she hasn't tried which was the Oven Harissa Roasted Chicken. Oven Harissa Roasted Chicken is suppose to be spicy for my evaluation it is mild not too spicy for PHP 305.00 ($6.10).
