Carmina's review on Summit Hotel in Tacloban

Last year my dad had informed me he will be getting married in Tacloban the place his wife grew up in the Philippines . My dad said he would like all of his family members to attend since they couldn't go to the one in the United States. Carmina booked her flight during Philippine Airlines ’ year-end sale at the start of 2026. I told my dad about my travel plans for a short trip from Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19. My cousins also asked for my flight details so they could book the same flight. My dad said he will book my room for me sharing with two family members at  Summit Hotel in Tacloban . Sending me the confirmation booking information for my reference.  As the months went by, before I knew it, the big day had finally arrived—a rare event that doesn’t happen too often. Everything had been carefully planned by my dad and his wife, Tita Cielo. When we arrived, the check-in time was 2 PM, but there was a mix-up with the rooms. Some were ready for check-in, but the one...

Valentine's Day

I've never celebrated Valentine's Day in my life. I don't look forward to it since I have never experience it.  My friends always want to have a date on Valentine’s Day and to them it is a really big deal to go out with their boyfriend or spouse on this special day. I see those receiving flowers from someone who does service to deliver flowers to their work and they get all so excited. Sometimes it gives those other people wanting to have what they are experiencing right now. There was one time my mom was telling me her best friend decided to order flowers and have it sent to her home. Her best friend wanted to see what her husband would say when she had received flower other than him. Some people do other things to get attention or to give miss signals to someone else. I've dated before, but never allowed to reach to the point to have a relationship during the holiday. Maybe it is luck for me so I will not look for those days to feel I need...

Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop in the Philippines

This was the first time I went to Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop that caters to most of all the food in one restaurant.  Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop actually came from Canada and they have branches here in the Philippines. I had ordered a Tuscan chicken Panini that comes with chicken strips, mozzarella cheese, red onion, tomato with garlic roasted mayo dressing. It was actually good even if the sandwich looked small I was able to get filled up from eating it alone. I was missing apple fritter donut which my brother in-law would always buy in Berkeley, California. In fact the difference is there was a lot of cinnamon in the apple fritter you couldn't really take the apple inside it. Not bad it was able to take out my cravings out from the apple fritter was very moist and soft.

Age 50

What happens when you are at the age of 50 and you need to look for a job? You left your old employer not realizing what a big mistake you made. I know a lot of friends who have encounter this mistake they have made in their lives. They had quit their employer where they have worked over ten years and they decided to quit because they felt they we’re having a difficult time. I was telling my co-workers that when you get older people will not hire you because for one thing they will hire the younger ones who are well educated and the ones who have experiences. We have a lot of employees who left for one year and came back. They came back because they knew they had no source of education back ground it was harder for them to get a job. We had hired them back, but not from the income they left. They had to start from the beginning as how they had started when they use to work. They know how the real world is when you are outside and you need to get a source of inco...
