When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Mom Violy's Experience Riding an L300 for the First Time

One week ago, Uncle Danny called up Mom Violy to inform her sister that she needed someone to drop him at the airport.

Mom Violy realized her car was coding on a Thursday and asked her friend Sonny if he was able to drive his L300. Sonny said, he was available being off on that day from work.

Mom Violy had informed Carmina if she can come along with her. I said yes than began thinking a concept how I can use it for my blog.

I came up with the theme riding a school bus because in the Philippines people use an L300 for private school services.

Other private company uses it a source of transportation for their employees or for delivery purpose.

I had no problem riding in an L300. I've ridden on it in the past. Yet, for Mom Violy it was her first time. She had no clue it is difficult for seniors to climb up riding in the front near the driver.

Seniors you need to assist them to climbing up. There are handles to hold on from the side.

Mom Violy had no clue riding in the back it is easy getting inside. The ride is a bit bumping and noisy. I was able to figure it out. If, you ride inside close to the driver it is not bad. It is just like riding in a van behind the driver. Although if you stay in the middle and the end that is when you're prone to get dizzy especially if you move too much while the L300 is moving.

Yes, there is airconditioned and it is very cold can be adjusted where whether you would like it pointed to your direction.

Watch this short video clip of Mom Violy inside the L300!

Carmina is not selling or advertising for L300.
