Carmina says Bebang’s halo-halo is summer in a spoon — but is it the real deal or just pretty colors in a cup?

Since last year, Mom Violy and Carmina had been wanting to try the much-talked-about  Bebang's Halo-Halo , but even when we passed by, the timing was never right. Mom Violy kept saying she’d wait until a branch opened closer to us. Then Becky told Carmina there was one along her commute route to work. The best part was that the Tomas Morato branch in Quezon City had just opened. When we arrived at CTTM Square , we found plenty of restaurants on the second floor. While checking the menu, we let the customers behind us order first. Mom Violy asked them for recommendations, and they suggested the Presidential for first timers. Unlike other places, Bebang’s Halo-Halo doesn’t have size options—everything comes in a standard size, making ordering easier. Seniors and PWDs get a discount per order, and you’re given something that lights up when your halo-halo is ready for pickup. Service was quick, so the wait wasn’t long at all. Each order comes in its own green plastic bag with a table...

Eggplant Lasagna without the Pasta from Cafe Leonor located in Marikina City, Philippines

Most of us eat eggplant the Filipino way is making it into torta that is battered with egg, but you haven't seen a lasagna version without pasta.

We don't need to worry about the carbohydrate in reality it is melted cheese on the top to enhance the flavor linger in your mouth.

Using a fork you begin to dig inside to see what is the ingredient when looking at the plastic clear container the layering is the melted cheese how it resemble how a lasagna may look.

It is a combination of an eggplant salad and torta only difference there is melted cheese on it which makes it really unique.

Those who are in the mood to try something new may look into Cafe Leonor.

If you really want some garlic pasta must try their Prawn Aglio Olio with two pieces garlic bread for PHP 325.00 ($5.80).

Or a big portion of Soy Garlic that comes individual plastic containers for PHP 260.00 ($4.64) includes  mixed vegetables and rice.

Carmina will someday try their other dishes in the future who knows we can walk in and dine in person.
