When Mom Violy spotted Crisostomo’s handwritten menu, something in her chest lit up: home-style lumpia, sinigang steaming in clay pots—could this be the comfort food she’d been missing?

Carmina informed Mom Violy that she would visit her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She asked if Mom Violy wanted to go out for lunch and mentioned needing to do some grocery shopping due to an upcoming big storm. Mom Violy suggested trying Crisostomo, a Filipino restaurant inside Robinsons Magnolia. Carmina forwarded the menu for her to choose what she wanted to eat, while Carmina already knew her order. I chose pork barbeque served in a set of three pieces with a vinegar dipping sauce. I skipped rice and opted for lumpiang hubad, fresh lumpia without a wrapper, topped with peanut sauce.  Mom Violy initially craved the classic Pinoy paella, but when it wasn’t available, she decided on sinigang na baboy with an extra serving of rice. A family member chose sisig with garlic rice. Carmina enjoyed her meal with Mom Violy and particularly liked the  lumpiang hubad , though she kept wondering why it had no wrapper. Do you ever have someone you're talking asking what time it is?

Do you ever have someone you're talking asking what time it is?

Sometimes you come across who you're with they keep asking you what time it is and consisting looking at what time this has happened to me a lot of times either in person or on the phone.

Questions I ask the person if they ask more than once:

  1. Do you have a date?
  2. Do you need to be home in a specific time?
  3. Are you expecting someone to come over?

When I reply with question number 1 the person laugh at me the person say why do you say that to me if I have a date because you're always asking me every time when I am talking to you. It becomes annoying at time you feel they no longer into your conversation might as well not talk anymore on the phone.

I also have someone come over your home by appointment and they keep looking at their watch to see the time.

I always ask them question number 1 and they say no just my sister might look for me why I am not home yet.

I always tell them why not call them up where you're at no need to worry not unless you have an appointment that you need to be in the same location.

You will notice people like to multi-task and do other things in between their schedule.

What happens when one appointment doesn't fall back in time or becomes delayed?

Do you have a backup plan in case it happens to you?

In the Philippines most people are on the Filipino time where they don't come on the actual time you expecting them to arrive there will be a lot of excuses you will hear.

Other times they like to hold people waiting for them.

I was young I was always taught to adjust your time from your home and the distance of transportation never let other people wait for you always leave fifteen minutes ahead of time this way you have allowance in your time in case you reach traffic or an accident on the road.

If you see me I am always prompt in time if I am late I will call or message you in case something does occur during our moment when we do meet each other.

I am on the phone I will not ask you the time I can look over at my phone or my watch to see what time it is you will have no clue I am looking at it only once if I have something else to do.

Otherwise my time is meant for you to spend time with when you’re on the phone or I see you in person.
