When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Bali, Indonesia

I was supposed to travel to Bali, Indonesia since my mom saw pictures from her friends who had traveled there recently and she wanted to visit the place. We had inquired from our travel agent after our trip from Australia.

The best time to visit Bali, Indonesia is the month of April to October. Bali, Indonesia is a tropical climate like the Philippines where the beaches are really known for and if you're into this time of atmosphere this place is for you.

If, you're not into nature like waterfall and hiking this place is not for you.

At first I was wondering why my mom wanted to visit this place because she is not into swimming at the beach, hiking or into walking hours in the nature with fresh air.

Places to see in Bali, Indonesia:

  • UC Silver Village
  • Mt. & Lake Batur View
  • Penglipuran Village
  • Tegenungan Waterfall
  • Turtle Island Tour

Bedugul:

  • Mengwi Royal Temple
  • Lake Beratan
  • Ulundanu Temple
  • Tanah Lot
  • Wanagiri Hidden Hill

My mom just wanted to go there due to take pictures just like what her friend's did. But, I found places in the Philippines that look like Bali, Indonesia that she doesn't need to fly just to visit the place just to take a picture.

If, you are like my mom not into nature this maybe for you who may already be living in the Philippines or who plan to visit here in the future.

There is always a will to see a place that can inspire places of other countries just a drive away or a short flight but still be traveling within the Philippines.

There are people who want to do just like Wanagirl Hidden Hill where it is a place like taking picture in a nest this place is for you.

Villa Jovita in Batangas, Philippines:

Camp Paraiso, Nueva Ecija in Cabanatuan City Philippines:

Neris Ville in Sitio Bombil, Cebu City, Philippines:

Hotel accommodation that are inspired to look like Bali, Indonesia:
Just in case you are in the area of Bacolod try eating at Tezza Cafe something you will love to do is take pictures in the restaurant.
 Highlight:

The benefit is traveling within the Philippines you don’t need to pay for airfare, hotel accommodation for how many days you plan to be out of town.

You don’t need to convert your Philippine currency to Indonesia money.

Spend less for your efforts to just travel within your area and you get to see more places than what you are not accustoming to doing at your own pace.

Tip:

You are traveling with seniors they have a difficult time walking and when they are in a tour they have a hard time catching up who are much younger than them. This is what I have learned as I have been traveling with my mom.
