When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Hospital

The life staying in a hospital bed is hard work when a love one is also in the same position who is also not feeling well.

As she sees her husband having a difficult time coughing away. She feels the pain in her heart without telling anyone what she is going through. She worries for him. She doesn't care if she hasn't eaten just to supplement the easiness of her husband while he is on the hospital bed.

I saw this yesterday when my parent in-law was in the hospital the hardship someone does for their other half.

The life when you are sick, but you can't show the desperate feeling and feeling sorrow in your heart.

I realized staying in the hospital is not a good sight. The difference based on the service on the hospital in the Philippines compared to the one when I grew up in the States.

I realized how it is difficult to stay in a hospital just for hours watching and helping out.

The sacrifices people make and the feeling watching them eat the food from the hospital pretending the food taste so good. When in reality they have no choice and they need to eat it so they will be able to be release.

As my parent in-law keeps offering me food. I didn't feel like eating no appetite as I see other people suffering inside.

I just sat down looking at my phone just to kill the hours seating across the air conditioner.

Helping out buying food that is needed or request from the patient and we find out later he is not allowed to eat outside food.

When I came home and woke up the next day I caught the virus that was spread in the room.

As we get older our body cannot cope with the virus and we tend to get sick easily. It is not the same when we are young we can remove that bug away.
