How to Stay and Look Young

Ever since I was young having a baby face people always misjudge me being a minor. There was one time I was in college in California I was out with my best friend getting our lunch from the shopping mall. There was a security guard who had questioned me. He thought I was in high school cutting classes.

There was another time I went to buy lotto at the gas station. The salesman at the counter asked, for my driver's license.

I was traveling with my mom to Singapore. My mom had met a new friend at the airport. My mom was told by the new friend you should bring your daughter to Universal Studio. She will really enjoy it there. I was laughing and that time I was in my 40's.

I went to my son's parent orientation for college. The teacher announced if you feel you are in the wrong room please leave now. One person approached me who was seated next to me. I think that is you.

It use to bother me when I was really young. Now, I feel it is really a compliment and advantage when you have aged.

How do I keep myself to look young not just from my baby face?

I don't put so much make up on my face. Ever since I started living in the Philippines I put less make up as possible. It is too humid and you tend to sweat it off. I just apply the following:
  • Neutrogena Sunscreen Lotion SPF 70
  • Avon Eye Shadow
  • Avon Glimmer Stick Eye Liner color Blackish Black
  • Burt Bee Lip Shimmer
I don't buy those expensive make up. I am just a real simple Filipina girl who has an American accent.

There are a lot of girls out there who wear designer clothing, hand bags, shoes and jewelry. I am the opposite I live my life as simple as possible.

I don't really follow the trend so much. I wear simple clothing mostly tee, jean, fit bit watch and sneaker.

There was one lady who had compared me with my mom. She said, I look like a Maria Clara a person who wears simple clothing. She said, not many people are out there who are like me.

I find myself to be unique and find my own style.

I had one close friend who I met she had copied everything I bought in the store. I asked, her why she has to copy me what ever I bought. She said, she couldn't decided what type of clothing to buy for herself.

I had notice later when the more I got to know my friend. I wasn't thee only me she had copied. She had copied her other friends.

Sometimes there are people out there who are lost and confused and cannot decide for themselves what type of clothing they want to wear that will suit them better.

I had told my friend she needs to be more confident on herself to build her own image.

After a few months later when I saw my friend again. She had changed and realized what she had wanted for herself.

Sometimes there are people who need to be told out right and not let them get discourage on what kind of beauty God has given them.

After a long day it is time to clean up I have been using Centiphil cleansing liquid soap all my college years. My face is sensitive. I cannot use soap that are scented.

I learn to use toner after your face has been washed off with Cetaphil and water. The toner I had discovered is Hyaluronic Koelcia toner. It is a Korean brand. I use to buy Neutrogena Non - Alcohol unscented toner from California.

Just like any other person our skin starts to aged with wrinkles. I use the following products:
  1. Retinol SPA - Retinol & Vitamin E Enriching Serum with added Vitamin C for the face
  2. Retinol Eye Contour Serum - for the eye bags
  3. Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel for the face
I am not into botox and plastic surgery. I believe God gave our face for a reason and it is up to us to be satisfied in what we have. If, you are not content with your face it is up to you what you decide to do with it.

Everyone has their choices in what they decide for themselves. I believe everyone is different and unique on their own way.

Once a week I would apply the following:
  1. Nose Pore Strips (any brand)
  2. Coenzym1q10 Face Mask (any brand)
Note:

This is for Men and Woman

Being hot and humid in the Philippines I wear sun screen even if I am at home. I apply my mosquito repellent.

Once a month just like any other aged men and woman we color our hair. I color my hair on my own. I buy my hair color from California and stock up for two years supply.

You can buy hair color from the Philippines. I tried it once I got allergy on my scalp.

The brand that works well for me is Revlon Color silk. The color I usually get is brown black or dark brown. When I used those color I was told I looked like a Japanese doll. I had to change my shade to a lighter color. The color I am now using is medium rich brown or dark mahogany.

I was told by some people to try coloring my hair to much lighter shade like blonde. I said, no thanks. People already mistake me as a foreigner with my American accent, light brown eyes and pale skin tone.

Living in the Philippines you will notice there is no softener in the water when you shower. The texture is not the same in different country like in the States where I grew up.

You will need to find the best shampoo and conditioner that will suit the texture of your hair. Look for ingredient argan and keratin oil.

I buy my shampoo and conditioner as a set in Shopee which is online shopping that ships directly to your house. I prefer paying COD which stands for cash on delivery. I find it easier to shop online and buy products that has been imported around the world.

The soap I use when taking a shower is Dr. Kaufmann IR Skin - Germ Protection. The reason why I use this soap because our skin becomes dry due living in a tropical climate.

When you get bitten by mosquito the marks slowly disappear from your skin.

I prefer to use Pride Antibacterial detergent for sensitive skin. Other detergent are too strong for my skin.

I don't use Downy Softener in my clothes. The product here drives ants to your clothes from the sweet scent.

We do have washing machine to do our laundry. But, we don't have dryer too expensive on electricity. We hang our clothes outside on the driveway. We let the sun do the drying. When it is raining we hang our clothes inside our home using an electric fan.

For all the girls it is best to wear pantyliner and change it twice a day. The brand I have discovered using is ion pantyliner. There are different brands and they all work the same purpose. The brand that I am using is made locally from the Philippines.

Benefits from using ion pantyliner

For the Men:

Nivea Men anti - perspirant it prevents your sweat to discolor your clothing. There are other scent available in the store.

There are so many things you will learn slowly when you live in the Philippines.

Next you will be an expert on how life is and you will adjust yourself slowly to the pattern how we live.

Most important advice I can give you stay away from stress and listen to music that makes you feel emotionally happy.
