It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Most of my photos were from the pandemic period, a time when I could fully express myself and write about the food I enjoyed. Let's take a trip down memory lane with Carmina th...
When we want to run away from the city and have peace in our mind. We tend to go visit the nature and hike up and explore in the woods.
This is one of my remedying to bring closure and bond with my close friends in California who you haven't seen for a long time.
The smell of the woods and fresh air gives you a sense you can fly as the wind gush into your face.
Dogs running and giving way where to walk you see other people greeting with a smile.
I am not a real hiker like my close friends. I can say I am just an average girl who gets tired easily and need a push in the back to keep going.
I am a slow pace and can't keep up with my close friends.
There was a time in my life I got lost in the woods. During that time I was with my boyfriend and we had a fight. I went wandering in the woods to cool myself together. You realized you went out of the trail. It was a day I cannot forget until now.
I hid this story from my parents when I was young. I couldn't tell them my experience because I knew they would complain and get mad at my boyfriend and close friends.
I had a lot of bruises on my leg and placed ice on it that no one knew about it. I wore pants until the bruise had healed.
To get back to the story I roamed around the woods until it was dawn. I drank water from the stream not to dehydrate myself. I got tired just like anyone else and slept on the rock. I was freezing cold, but no choice to cover myself in the woods.
I saw strangers in the woods, but I was hesitant to follow them.
Pager was only thing that time. No phone available.
There was no signal in the woods since I had crossed over to the other side.
Can you imagine a girl lost in the woods?
I used my pager light as my flash light as I kept walking to get back to my boyfriend and close friends.
All a sudden I heard someone calling out for my name.
It was the rescue crew flashing a light so bright at my face.
I was too tired to recognize their faces because I was too dehydrated.
All I can hear from them complaining how worried they we're.
From based to this experience ever since I was young I didn't go back from the fear getting lost.
Or if I did go back hiking my boyfriend and close friends we're always at my side.
Now, we are grown up and matured we know what is best for us when we wander in the woods.
