Carmina says Bebang’s halo-halo is summer in a spoon — but is it the real deal or just pretty colors in a cup?

Since last year, Mom Violy and Carmina had been wanting to try the much-talked-about  Bebang's Halo-Halo , but even when we passed by, the timing was never right. Mom Violy kept saying she’d wait until a branch opened closer to us. Then Becky told Carmina there was one along her commute route to work. The best part was that the Tomas Morato branch in Quezon City had just opened. When we arrived at CTTM Square , we found plenty of restaurants on the second floor. While checking the menu, we let the customers behind us order first. Mom Violy asked them for recommendations, and they suggested the Presidential for first timers. Unlike other places, Bebang’s Halo-Halo doesn’t have size options—everything comes in a standard size, making ordering easier. Seniors and PWDs get a discount per order, and you’re given something that lights up when your halo-halo is ready for pickup. Service was quick, so the wait wasn’t long at all. Each order comes in its own green plastic bag with a table...

Bring Out the Old Negatives to Life

As the generation change the technology becomes more challenging to most people who are not use to it. There are some people who are still using a camera just like in the olden days.

I was cleaning out my attic and found some film negatives that I kept away from so many years from my childhood.

I had search online to check if there are still photo shops that can still develop my film negatives. All my friends we're laughing at me thinking it is impossible.

I started calling photo shops near my area. They had informed me they no longer do it.

I didn't want to let my memories that shared my life during my childhood years to become a waste. I couldn't remember my pictures as I was glancing through the film under the light of my laptop.

I didn't want to stop searching online. I found out you can actually use a special scanner for your negatives.

I checked online where to buy this sort of scanner. I started checking online to see if there we're photo shop that can do it for me.

I was so happy and found a photo shop called, "Columbia Cubao Photo."

The great part for one roll of film or 100 frame of negative is PHP 300.00 ($ 6.00) and an additional charge to put into a blank CD-R of PHP 150.00 ($3.00). I gave them my own CD-R and put all the pictures inside. To prevent the additional charges.

It takes one week to scan the pictures.

I was so happy after one week finally all my childhood memories went back into my life after reminiscing and recalling my past.

To the friends who had laughed at me I was able to share my pictures with them.

Anything is possible when you strive to look for an alternative to find what you are looking for.
