Mom Violy wanted to try Spanish food from Las Flores at Robinsons Magnolia . I remembered long time ago saw a family friend when my family was visiting beginning of the year. Mom Violy couldn't remember decided to have our lunch. Carmina decided to try out their Let's Do Lunch for 595.00 pesos ($10.26). Carmina asked for vegetable soup and Bikini sandwich which is ham and mozzarella cheese with potato chips. There is an unlimited calamansi but decided to pay additional for a Coke to share with Mom Violy. Mom Violy wasn't sure what she wanted ended up eating Gambas al Ajillo and white rice. In the beginning Mom Violy thought if she ate her gambas al Ajillo with just unlimited bread from the Las Flores she won't get full. It turned out she didn't eat that much of her rice. Manang V is sharing you her Kaldereta Recipe the way she cooks in our home. Being a cook she feeds a lot of people.
Carmina has the opportunity to write down and ask Manang V what are her recipes each day a way we have a journal of what recipes each person has on their own.
Manang V said normally there is pineapple to the dish since we have nothing in stock it wasn't included in our dish today.
Manang V's Beef Ribs Kaldereta Recipe
Ingredients:
2 Kilo - Beef Ribs
2 - Small Packs Del Monte Tomato Sauce
2 - Tbsp. Vinegar
1 - Onion (chopped)
1 - Whole Garlic (minced)
1 - Potato (sliced in 1 inch)
1 - Carrot (sliced in 1 inch)
2 - Bell Pepper (sliced thinly)
1 - Can Green Peas
1 - Reno Liver Spread
Patis (Fish Sauce) to taste
1 - Can of Sliced Pineapple (strain juice)
Cooking Instructions:
- In a large pot you will add small amount of cooking oil when hot add garlic, onion sauté by adding the beef ribs, vinegar and water until meat is soft and tender.
- Add potato, carrot, bell pepper, peas until cook for thirty minutes
- Add reno liver spread, patis and pineapple ready to serve with rice.
They say eating in a small plate makes you eat only a small portion of your food each day.
