Today Manang V asked me if I eat biko I said yes she had informed me that Gina will be making it today the employees had chipped in order to cook it at the house for their merienda.
I had informed Gina too bad I cannot go to the kitchen and take a video of you cooking it since we are in covid right now being social distance from each other.
I had informed Gina I will just get her recipe and her pictures of what she had made in order to share it with my audience.
Biko Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 Kilo - Sweet Rice
- 1 Kilo - Dark Red Sugar
- 4 Pieces Fresh Coconut
- 12 Cups - Water
Step 1:
- Cook sweet rice just like regular rice use 12 cups of water for the 2 kilo sweet rice.
Step 2:
- Grate fresh coconut and squeeze out with your hands to separate the gata that you will use later to set aside.
Cooking Instructions:
- Boil gata and coconut in a pot and add sugar once it has thicken like this picture shown:
2. Add cooked sweet rice and stir for 30 minutes until it is cooked spread on a tray like this picture:
3. Slice it and it is ready to eat our employee match it with hot coffee with their biko for merienda.
