Carmina was shopping with Mom Violy at Robinsons Magnolia when she unexpectedly spotted onion rings while passing the freezer section. She remembered Becky mentioning them a few days ago, so she decided to grab a package since it was only around two hundred pesos. Carmina was putting away her groceries placing in the freezer began to read the package of Maestro Chicken Onion Rings later realized made a big mistake. Sarciado Dalag with Black Beans Recipe



Every time Manang V will tell me she is cooking dalag (mud fish) I will joke with her I don't eat alien fish because I am allergic to it. There are certain kinds of fish I cannot eat in the Philippines. 

In this sarciado dalag Manang V added black beans to this recipe and can use any other type of fish if dalag fish is not available in your area.

Sarciado Dalag with Black Beans Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 - Dalag (clean and slice 3 pieces head, body and tail)
  • 2 Tsp - Garlic (minced)
  • 3 Pieces - Onion (chopped)
  • 3 Pieces - Ripe Tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 Tsp - Black Pepper
  • 1 Cup – Black Beans
  • 3 Eggs - (beaten)
  • 2 Tbsp - Patis (fish sauce)
  • 1 3/4 Cup -Water
  • 2 Tbsp - cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1:

  • Clean Dalag
  • Fry fish on cooking oil in a pan on both sides.
  • Strain fish
  • Set aside

Step 2:

  • Heat frying pan heat oil adds garlic, onion and tomato sauté together.
  • Add patis, black pepper than stir.
  • Add black beans and water let it boil
  • Pour beaten eggs on the pan and stir together
  • Add fried fish
  • Cook for 10 minutes ready to serve in a serving plate.
