It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. For the pork lover here is a dish for you to cook at your home this is lechon kawali that is often cooked in our home by Manang V to top it off on the side with homemade lechon sauce of my mom in which I will include with this recipe.
Lechon Kawali Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Kilo - Liempo
- 1 Tsp - Salt
- 1/2 Tsp - Magic Sarap
- 3 Cups = Water
- Cooking oil
Boiling Instructions:
- In a pot boil the three cups water add the magic sarap and salt until hot add liempo to soften for 15 minutes.
- Place the liempo on a strainer set aside
Frying Instructions:
- In a frying pan or deep fryer add cooking oil until hot fry both sides of the liempo when cooked slice the liempo into cubes like shown in the picture.
Lechon Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 Can - Liverwurst
- 1 Tbsp - Salt
- 1/2 Cup - White Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp - Whole Black Pepper
- 1/2 Cup - Breadcrumbs
- 1 Cloves - Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 Cup - Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp - White Sugar
Step 1:
- In a pot add small amount of cooking oil once hot add garlic sauté add liverwurst, vinegar, breadcrumbs, sugar and salt mix together until texture is smooth it is ready to serve cooked in low heat.
