Carmina says Bebang’s halo-halo is summer in a spoon — but is it the real deal or just pretty colors in a cup?

Since last year, Mom Violy and Carmina had been wanting to try the much-talked-about  Bebang's Halo-Halo , but even when we passed by, the timing was never right. Mom Violy kept saying she’d wait until a branch opened closer to us. Then Becky told Carmina there was one along her commute route to work. The best part was that the Tomas Morato branch in Quezon City had just opened. When we arrived at CTTM Square , we found plenty of restaurants on the second floor. While checking the menu, we let the customers behind us order first. Mom Violy asked them for recommendations, and they suggested the Presidential for first timers. Unlike other places, Bebang’s Halo-Halo doesn’t have size options—everything comes in a standard size, making ordering easier. Seniors and PWDs get a discount per order, and you’re given something that lights up when your halo-halo is ready for pickup. Service was quick, so the wait wasn’t long at all. Each order comes in its own green plastic bag with a table...

Do you get tired eating the same food in your home?

Here in our household we have a fixed menu that consist from Monday to Sunday for two weeks a menu of A and B.

Sometimes when you reach the third week of the month you get tired of eating the same old food from the first week.

When you live in a household where the family have medical issues and need to eat on the healthy side and the fixed menu hasn’t been revised to their health issues what you end up doing. The cook ends up thinking of alternative food that can be cooked for her boss.

Sometimes when you cook something other people are not fond of that dish there comes a time people argue over just on what food was cooked that day instead of thinking how hard the cook had put so much passion on her cooking to taste how it taste.

When you live with a household of people it is hard to get any feedback in return and there are times you lose that inspiration to cook because out of your hard labor of love comes complaints from their mouths.

I’ve been there and done that so I know how the cook feels and it is not a pretty site. You learn from their complaints to make your food taste better by using that tool to change the way the taste should taste by making it over again until you reach that right compliment.

Living in this kind of household is not easy life is complicated as it is but since it is your job to cook we have no choice to please our boss without them we wouldn’t have the right income to feed our family and our daily expenses.

Life is a trial and error just like cooking it comes with a lot of practice in all the dishes we cook.

In the next following post there will be new added recipes that Manang V and I will explore to let you know which ones we have approved to share with you.
