Tired of the new rules, Carmina closed her Google Maps account — what pushed her over the edge?

It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Most of my photos were from the pandemic period, a time when I could fully express myself and write about the food I enjoyed. Let's take a trip down memory lane with Carmina th...

Left Over Food from December

After the New Year’s Eve has ended my body feels so drain from cooking a storm for the past month. I can’t imagine myself cooking every day and have to cater to a lot of people. I feel drained from the month of December when I had cooked for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Christmas Party for the Employee and New Year’s Eve.

Wow! I look at all back the food I have cooked from the old repeated dishes and new dishes I have made last year.

Now, we have added leftovers from all the occasion and we don’t to eat it. But it becomes a waste if we don't. We really have no choice to eat what was served.

I have found ways to eat our leftover and make a dish to something new and no one who doesn't know how to cook will know anything about it.

We have a lot of left over buttered garlic shrimp, ground beef, salsa, Mexican rice, refined beans, pork barbecue, nacho chips and tortilla.

This is my favorite part is creating a new meal out of our leftover food. Why not make it into a burrito or make nachos by adding everything all together.

All we need to do is reheat the food and remove the skin and head from the shrimp. Remove the pork barbecue from the stick and cut into small pieces.

Add melted cheese on the nacho and now we have something new to eat.

I live in a household and so may not know how to cook. They like it so much when I have a new meal to cook for them. They may have eaten somewhere else, but they always look forward in what new dishes I have to cook.

The best part in learning how to cook a new dish is sharing it in my blog. The best effort is when people who eat it compliment on how it really taste. When you cook your own food you get immune and you have no more taste as you repeat what you have cooked for so many times.

The more you cook a new dish you tend to change the way to cook it and make that dish improve its taste for the better.
