When Mom Violy spotted Crisostomo’s handwritten menu, something in her chest lit up: home-style lumpia, sinigang steaming in clay pots—could this be the comfort food she’d been missing?

Carmina informed Mom Violy that she would visit her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She asked if Mom Violy wanted to go out for lunch and mentioned needing to do some grocery shopping due to an upcoming big storm. Mom Violy suggested trying Crisostomo, a Filipino restaurant inside Robinsons Magnolia. Carmina forwarded the menu for her to choose what she wanted to eat, while Carmina already knew her order. I chose pork barbeque served in a set of three pieces with a vinegar dipping sauce. I skipped rice and opted for lumpiang hubad, fresh lumpia without a wrapper, topped with peanut sauce.  Mom Violy initially craved the classic Pinoy paella, but when it wasn’t available, she decided on sinigang na baboy with an extra serving of rice. Ube Cream Cheese Custard Rolls & Brioche Burger Buns

I've always grew up eating bread ever since I was a kid. Living in the Philippines there are a lot of selection of bread to choose your choice can be plain or bread that has a filling inside the bread.

Yesterday, I decided to purchase some bread from Boulngerie22 to try other bread from their store. Finally I can eat something different for a change. I bought some ube cream cheese custard rolls sold by pack of six pieces for PHP 149.00 ($2.98) not including delivery charge being purchase through Grab application and tip to the rider.

The Ube Cream Cheese Custard Rolls is soft, moist and the filling is really delicious not sweet and has a balance taste with a small amount of sesame seeds on top of the bread. I found bread that I won't mind buying again.

I also bought Brioche Burger Buns that was available not to make a hamburger more to just to make a sandwich for it.

I have placed myself on a diet with my family members due we have been excess eating from our previous months of our food ventures now we are on the healthy side.

I am going back on the pattern to eat on the sandwich the life I grew up in California so no matter what living in the Philippines we can still train ourselves to eat the American way.

Brioche Burger Bun taste a buttery flavor on the bread has the same when you eat a croissants what it remind me when I bite into it.

You can refer to my other stories in what other bread I've tried the first time I had purchase from Boulangerie 22: https://www.carminalifestyle.com/2020/03/boylangerie-22-in-philippines.html
