When Mom Violy spotted Crisostomo’s handwritten menu, something in her chest lit up: home-style lumpia, sinigang steaming in clay pots—could this be the comfort food she’d been missing?

Carmina informed Mom Violy that she would visit her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She asked if Mom Violy wanted to go out for lunch and mentioned needing to do some grocery shopping due to an upcoming big storm. Mom Violy suggested trying Crisostomo, a Filipino restaurant inside Robinsons Magnolia. Carmina forwarded the menu for her to choose what she wanted to eat, while Carmina already knew her order. I chose pork barbeque served in a set of three pieces with a vinegar dipping sauce. I skipped rice and opted for lumpiang hubad, fresh lumpia without a wrapper, topped with peanut sauce.  Mom Violy initially craved the classic Pinoy paella, but when it wasn’t available, she decided on sinigang na baboy with an extra serving of rice. When you think about it Carmina is going advance, we are approaching the month of March in the Philippines summer is coming. People tend to place themselves in a diet or go toward a healthy style of living.

Just happened to Carmina's condition which is not really bad since we can work around by food we can eat.

Carmina has started eating wheat bread found the best one she has preferred to purchase in the Philippines.

I used to think wheat bread was dry with no flavor. 

My favorite brand is Monde Soft Wheat Bread. 

I guess we learn from when we can only eat wheat bread and explore by making meals out of it.

Banana Toast with Vegan Cinnamon Almond Cashew Butter Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Wheat or white bread (any brand)
  • Toaster
  • Vegan Cinnamon Almond Cashew Butter (any brand)
  • 1 Ripen Banana (sliced)
Prepare:
  • Toast how many slices of bread you want to eat for breakfast.
  • Spread the almond cinnamon cashew butter on toast bread and add the sliced banana place the bread.
  • You can spread on both ends if you want too on the almond cinnamon cashew butter. 

It is not bad at all just by spreading some vegan cinnamon almond cashews spread on your wheat toast bread.

Carmina discovered that you could top your bread by adding ingredients inside with fruits.

Drink a cup of coffee is a way to start your healthy breakfast. 

Breakfast doesn't have to be so complicated just the fact you're exploring what you can add to make a meal when fried food is not allowed at this point.
