Tired of the new rules, Carmina closed her Google Maps account — what pushed her over the edge?

It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Mom Violy's Recipe of Gulay Corn with Dahon Sili Recipe


Mom Violy would like to share you what she is cooking for herself at her home.

Carmina loves eating Mom Violy's cooking but since we're not allowed to go outside during our ECQ in the Philippines.

Carmina asked the recipe from Mom Violy to ask Manang V to cook it at our house.

Mom Violy's Recipe of Gulay Corn with Dahon Sili Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 - Fresh Corn (grate)
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 4 - Pieces cloves of Garlic (minced)
  • 1 - Bundle of Dahon Sili
  • 1/2 Cup - Shrimp Soup 
  • 1/2 - Pork Cube
  • 1/2 Cup - Sliced Pork
Prepare Ingredients:
  • You will remove husk from corn and grate it and set aside in a bowl.
  • You will use head of shrimp and use a mortar and pestle to pound with half cup water.
Cooking Instructions:
  • In a pot you will add small amount of cooking oil when hot add garlic, onion to sauté adding grated corn, sliced pork, water, pork cubes and let it boil once it is being cooked add the dahon sili.
  • It is ready to be served with rice.
