Carmina found a luncheon stainless meat slicer something similar with an egg slicer. Carmina made her purchase from Rose Underwear Shop Online Shopee for 80.00 pesos ($1.40) not including shipping and handling. All you need is remove the luncheon meat from the can and place it on top making sure the slicer is open by moving the blade up. Bopis is made of lungs of the pig and some also add the heart of the pig. This recipe that Manang V cooks at our home only has the pig's lungs and I will give you a technique she does to clean the lungs before cooking the bopis.
Bopis Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 Kilos - Pig's lungs
- 1 - Radish (peel and chopped small pieces)
- 2 - Whole Garlic (peeled and chopped)
- 2 - Onion Medium size (chopped)
- 1 - Cup Vinegar
- 3 - Cups Water
- Patis to taste
How to Clean the Pig's Lungs before Cooking:
- In a pot boil water add salt place the pig's lungs inside cook for one hour after it has been cooked strain the water and place it under cold water begin chopping the lungs the size of a ground meat small enough.
- Set aside
Cooking Instructions
Step 1:
- In a pot pour small amount of cooking oil add garlic and onion saute it than add radish, vinegar and lungs.
- Add water add season with patis once water has evaporated the bopis is already cooked.
- Ready to serve in a serving plate.
