Tito Boni's birthday was on the month of May, but since we're on vacation in California it was delayed. Tita Edna decided to have the celebration meal at  Zensho  for our lunch. Tito Boni and Tita Edna had arrived at the restaurant to pick our seating arrangement. Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home and met them at Zensho. We had arrived at 11:30 AM. Not many customers during the time of arrival later people started coming in even if the forecast was raining. Tito Boni, Tita Edna and Mom Violy had ordered the food that will be cooked in front of us. Filipino Halo Halo Recipe or Buy Your Own Ready to Eat

Any nationality loves to eat halo halo not only the Filipino people crave for this when they visit the Philippines, but we can also make this at home or we see this often when we eat at a Filipino Buffet Restaurant where you make your own with what toppings you want to add to your halo halo.

Halo halo is a favorite dessert in the Philippines it is shaved ice on the top and the bottom of the glass container or deep bowl is ingredients as the following like this picture


Halo Halo Recipe:

Ingredients:
  • Kaong (sweet palm fruit)
  • Garbanzo Beans (chick peas)
  • Macapuno (shredded coconut)
  • Langka (jack fruit)
  • Red Munggo (munggo beans)
  • Sweetened Saba (banana cooked in brown sugar)
  • Corn kernerls
  • Nata de Coco (coconut gelatin)
  • Ube (purple yam)
  • Leche Flan (custard)
  • Ube Ice Cream 
  • Evaporated Milk (any brand)
  • Pinipig (toasted rice or can use rice krispy cereal)
  • Shave Ice Machine
Step 1:
  • In a deep glass or bowl you will add any ingredients you choose to add in your halo halo
  • Place shaved ice on top
  • Add the evaporated milk
  • Add one scoop of ice cream of your choice
  • Ready to eat
If, you don't feel like making it at home there are Filipino restaurants who also serve halo halo because it seem so much to do all at one time.

If, you are like anyone you are the only one who will be eating it at home go buy yourself some halo halo from either from my example of how it looks in other restaurant.
