When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Boodle Fight

This is a popular dish that has comes across from the Philippines and any country who love to eat with no plates and utensils known as boodle fight.

This is common from a traditional Filipino in the providences where they use banana leaf as your plate and your hands as your utensils.

Boodle fight has food all stack on a banana leaf that is place on a table just like what you normally do when you serve food.

Foods are served on a boodle fight:
  1. Rice
  2. Anything Grilled
  3. Anything Fried
  4. Cooked Vegetables
  5. Fresh Fruits
Note:
  • Just no food that has sauce which is place in a bowl

The advantage it is the best way with big crowds of people to fit on your table and the best part the only thing you need to wash are your hands after eating. No need to worry about washing plates or washing utensils.

The only thing you need is to provide plastic cups for drinking water and napkins.
