Craving authentic Hokkaido ice cream? Taste it without the long flight—right here at your local scoop shop.

  Those who have visited Japan know how much they can miss Hokkaido ice cream . But you don’t need to fly to Japan to enjoy it—there’s a spot in Greenhill's , in the new GH area extension , where you can get it. Just find Yabu House of Katsu , and outside there’s a walk-up counter where you can line up and order your ice cream. The prices are reasonable for the chocolate crumble sundae is 150.00 pesos ($2.54). Carmina had ordered the Kuromitsu Boba Sundae for 170.00 pesos ($2.88). Everyone enjoyed their ice cream, with no long wait since it’s prepared right away. The Hokkaido ice cream isn’t too sweet, making you want more every time you shop at Greenhill’s Shopping Center. Fruits in Season

 

Who doesn't enjoy cherry picking season that comes every year in the month of mid-May to mid- June depending on the rainfall becomes available in Brent wood, California.

Every time I get the chance to visit California I make sure I bring some cherries back home in the Philippines. Did you know cherries range from $20.00 per kilo in the Philippines and comes from the same area. 

While you spend less buying or picking cherries in California. How I wished we can just have a cherry tree in the Philippines. Of, course it is not possible due to our tropical climate.

In the Philippines we buy cherries either in Farmer's Market located in Cubao, Quezon City, Divisoria behind 168 shopping malls near the fruit stand near the bridge or in Uni Mart located in Greenhill's Shopping Mall.

Other than cherries you can find plum, peaches, nectarine, kiwi and persimmon depending on the season when they are available. Yet, they cost a lot and our pocket cannot afford the price.

Most Filipino just go on the basic eating Indian green mango that our sour or the ripe mango that they sell it the States called, Mexican mango in the Asian store.

These are the fruits in season in the Philippines that you would may like to try and see if you taste buds will like it:

  • Duhat - March to July
  • Durian - August to October
  • Guyabano - August to November
  • Caimito known as Star Apple - January to March
  • Langka known as Jack fruit used for turon or halo halo dessert - March to May

  • Mango - March to June
  • Mangosteen - June to November
  • Melon known for cantaloupe - April to July
  • Pakwan known for watermelon - March to July
  • Papaya - Available all through the year
  • Pineapple - May to July
  • Rambutan - August to October
  • Sampaloc known for tamarind - October to December
  • Santol - July to September
  • Sinigueles known as a Spanish Plum - April to June
  • Suha known as Pomelo or grapefruit - Available all through the year
