What made Mom Violy step out of her comfort zone and try Las Flores for lunch?

  Mom Violy wanted to try Spanish food from  Las Flores  at Robinsons Magnolia . I remembered long time ago saw a family friend when my family was visiting beginning of the year. Mom Violy couldn't remember decided to have our lunch. Carmina decided to try out their Let's Do Lunch for 595.00 pesos ($10.26). Carmina asked for vegetable soup and Bikini sandwich which is ham and mozzarella cheese with potato chips. There is an unlimited calamansi but decided to pay additional for a Coke to share with Mom Violy. Mom Violy wasn't sure what she wanted ended up eating Gambas al Ajillo and white rice. In the beginning Mom Violy thought if she ate her gambas al Ajillo with just unlimited bread from the Las Flores she won't get full. It turned out she didn't eat that much of her rice. Grilled Tilapia or Bangus Recipe



This is a popular dish when you feel like eating something healthy for a change you can either wrap this up in banana leaf or aluminum foil of your choice.

You can either have it grilled or place in your oven whichever is convenient.

You can use any fish you prefer but we use either boneless bangus (milk fish) or tilapia.

Ingredients:
  • 1 - Choice of Medium size fish (clean and remove scales)
  • 2 - Pieces Ripe Tomato (chopped)
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 2 - Tsp Ginger (minced)
  • 1 - Tbsp Calamansi or Lemon Juice
  • Salt 
  • Black Pepper
Preparing the Fish:
  1. Slit the fish until you reach the bone.
  2. Add 1 tsp of salt on both sides by rubbing with your hands
  3. Leave for 15 minutes for the salt to absorb to the fish.
Step 1:
  • In a bowl add tomato, onion, ginger and calamansi or lemon juice
  • Add salt and black pepper
  • Mix well
Step 2:
  • Add Step 1 and place inside the cavity of the fish.
  • Rub cooking oil on the fish prevent fish sticky to the aluminum foil or banana leaf.
Step 3:
  • Wrap the fish in aluminum foil or banana leaf seal tightly by folding both ends secure.
Step 4:

Grilling:
Cook for 10 to 12 minutes each side on a charcoal.

Oven:
Preheat oven: 370-degree Fahrenheit
Bake for 25 minutes
Remove from oven, fold foil on each side to expose top skin and broil for 4 to 15 minutes.
