When Mom Violy spotted Crisostomo’s handwritten menu, something in her chest lit up: home-style lumpia, sinigang steaming in clay pots—could this be the comfort food she’d been missing?

Carmina informed Mom Violy that she would visit her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She asked if Mom Violy wanted to go out for lunch and mentioned needing to do some grocery shopping due to an upcoming big storm. Mom Violy suggested trying Crisostomo, a Filipino restaurant inside Robinsons Magnolia. Carmina forwarded the menu for her to choose what she wanted to eat, while Carmina already knew her order. I chose pork barbeque served in a set of three pieces with a vinegar dipping sauce. I skipped rice and opted for lumpiang hubad, fresh lumpia without a wrapper, topped with peanut sauce.  Mom Violy initially craved the classic Pinoy paella, but when it wasn’t available, she decided on sinigang na baboy with an extra serving of rice. Money Fund

Money doesn’t grow from trees when we’re little we know nothing where money comes from we only get a portion of our allowance each day from our parents.

We never know our parents work really hard for the money we spend.

Some people spend their money without thinking ahead they realize the money they used up from their allowance is all finished.

When we’re kids we asked, to borrow money from our friends so our parents will not find out.

We pay back our friends when we have sold our toys we no longer play and pay back the friends we owe.

Children ask their parents if their allowance can be increased because the allowance they receive is not enough.

Or they ask to help around and earn an extra income when they want to save up and buy something for themselves.

As we get older and we have a job we need to divide our money to pay our daily expenses and budget our money wisely.

When we have friends asking to go out and our money flow is low we make up some excuse because we don’t have enough money for the week.

I remember when I was single I had no more money and I was really hungry and there was nothing to eat at home.

I remember counting all my coins and going drive through paying in coins all rolled up. I was too embarrassed to pay in person. I am sure everyone had this kind of experience using all our coins from our piggy bank.

The new trend is called, money challenge when you save money every week until you are use to it than one day by placing your coins and excess cash in a canister or piggy bank. You challenge yourself each day to save travel funds or something you want to buy for yourself.

If, you prefer not having the cash at home you can open an savings account without an ATM so you will not have any access getting the money out from temptation.

Some people call it travel fund making sure on your upcoming planned trip is budget separate from your daily expenses.

Some people call it a trip that has planned for themselves or to travel with friends to explore with money saved up.

How does someone start to save money?
